What a great group of kids! We had our first fundraiser tonight and our students used their critical thinking skills and figured out how to best run the visitor concession stand. In addition, the students had excellent communication with each other and their customers! It was a fun and successful night.

Award time is here. No matter how our students do, we are proud! They have worked hard, pushed outside their comfort zone, and have learned so much. This has been a wonderful experience for them in so many ways. Let's go Branson!!!!

Yesterday was another day of competitions and breakout sessions. There was a break in the middle of the day followed by a social event for students. Back at the hotel students taught us some new dances and we taught them a few too. Learning never stops!

Tomorrow, the results of the competitions!

What a wonderful day at Educators Rising Nationals!

Students competed, took the ParaPro(paraprofessional) test, attended breakout sessions, networked with others from around the country, and finished the day with a keynote from the Teacher of the Year.

Bellanne Johnson and I are so proud of these future teachers! This is our second year leading Educators Rising and our first year competing. The amount of time & effort our student's put in outside of school to compete paid off. They secured two first place wins and two second place wins. We went in with no expectations other than getting experience, and all of our students represented Branson High School so well!

First place wins:
Children's Literature Pre-K Spanish
Children's Literature K-3

This category required the students to write and illustrate children's books.

Second place wins:
Inside Our Schools
Job Interview

Inside Our Schools showcases a program that has had a positive impact in our district. Our students chose a program at CRE called Winning Wednesday.

Job Interview is what it sounds like 😁 Students have to prepare a resume, cover letter, and do an interview for a paraprofessional position within a school.

Other areas we competed in were:
Exploring Non- Core Subject Teaching Careers
Public Speaking

If you see these students around, congratulate them!

We have an amazing group of students who have the qualities of being great teachers! They are in "competition mode" which means, easing each other's nerves, practicing with one another, and giving words of affirmation right before they go compete.
