We just wrapped up reading the Show Me Readers Award nominees in the library! This Missouri book award allows students in grades 1–3 to read 10 nominated books and vote for their favorite.

We talked about how to critique a story—thinking about the characters, illustrations, and what made the book enjoyable. Students then used those discussions to become informed voters when deciding which one was their favorite!

The award winner will be announced at the end of April!

We had so much fun celebrating Read, White & Blue Week while learning about America’s history and symbols! Students have enjoyed special activities, great books, and meaningful conversations about our country as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We had a great CRE Family Movie Night celebrating the end of our schoolwide reading of The Wild Robot!

Celebrate Read Across America Week and America’s 250th Birthday this week with our fun patriotic dress-up days!

One School, One Book Family Movie Night – The Wild Robot!

Today is the day! Join us as we celebrate the end of our reading journey together with a special showing of The Wild Robot!

🕠 Movie begins promptly at 5:30 PM
🚪 Doors open at 5:15 PM
🧺 Bring a blanket to sit on and get comfy!
🍿 Popcorn and water will be provided.

We are so excited to gather as a school family and watch this incredible story come to life after sharing it together through reading. It’s going to be magical!

We will be reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown — a wonderful story about family, adapting, and belonging, told through the journey of Roz, a robot who learns how to survive in the wild.

I think your family is going to love this story!

Our reading plan starts TODAY with Chapters 1–5.
Don’t worry—chapters are short, and your family can easily complete each day’s reading in just 15–20 minutes each night.
Students will have the opportunity to answer trivia questions each morning, so try not to fall behind!
