Last week, co-founder Jonathan Wies had the opportunity to speak with several of automotive shop classes at Spanish Springs High School near Reno. Huge thanks to Daniel Smith with EDAWN and Matt MacKay, CTE Coordinator with WCSD, for making the connection with Raul Hernandez at Spanish Springs HS.

We talked about the challenges we’re seeing in the automotive industry, from diagnostic complexity to the growing gap between vehicle technology and everyday understanding and how MyMech is working to bridge that gap with AI-driven tools that empower both students and mechanics.

Afterward, we held a Q&A where students shared ideas on how we can build a better product for people to work on cars or to understand them better before going to a mechanic. I wrapped up the visit with some shop time, watching students use technology to problem-solve, a reminder of how innovation starts with curiosity and hands-on learning.

Excited to take what we learned back to the MyMech team as we continue developing tools to make car care smarter, simpler, and more accessible.

This fall, MyMech is exploring how our AI-powered platform can help auto service businesses expedite repair times and support the training of newer mechanics. We're currently seeking feedback from shops and service providers to help us validate our concept in the B2B space before launching a pilot program.
