Gone With Groms
We are the Gardner family. Our mission is to get outside and help inspire other families to get out.
I turned around at the beginning of the trail I was excited ride. 🤦♀️ 😂
Frozen hands, toes and a cold half dead battery 🪫
I didn’t charge the battery enough over the winter and it went dormant but I found a rad electrician to jump the battery. I might have zapped its full potential but I’m happy with being able to keep it alive. Perhaps I can stretch it further above freezing. 🥶 🤟
I think the funny looks I got were because it’s 34 degrees and gravel gloves were never going to cut it but maybe it was the around my helmet. Best piece of clothing I own. 🙏
I claim seasonal amnesia. All week it was gorgeous and I was itching to get out. But I live in Colorado so by the time I did, it was 50° cooler. ☺️🤷♀️
All smiles to be back on the bike. That’s all the counts. ❤️
If you’re on the fence about an e-bike, it’s worth it. Just getting out the door starts the adventure.

From Zion National Park → the Western Wall → the land of the Exodus.
Apparently we’re committed to the theme. ✨
Other highlights include Athens, Big Sky, Redwoods, and Sera running free on the Oregon coast.
Only one kid ate nuggets, the other went for pasta. ☺️ Ari put together this awesome edit for school. We put a lot of effort into the journal her teacher gave her, but sadly it got lost between Athens and Cairo. The theme was all about food preferences. Ari loves history, but let's be real, cats are her true passion. 😂

Hi friends — I know I’ve been quiet, and a bunch of you have asked how our trip went. And honestly? It was magical… right up until my brain decided to spice things up.
About 19 hours after landing, I got a surprise VIP tour of the local ED. 🎉
(10/10 ambience, would not recommend.) Cheekiness aside did right by me. 🙏❤️💉
For those keeping track: last August, when my truck was totaled by someone running a red light, I ended up with a small bleed that formed a brand-new cavernoma. Well, that little overachiever decided to bleed again sometime before or right when we landed back home in Denver. 🧠 🩸
I tried all the classics — hydrate, pain meds, denial — but even I had to admit this wasn’t “just another migraine.” It cost $ to fly home early but I’m glad we did. 😳
So now I’m back and taking things slow while my brain behaves itself. I’ll share more trip memories once I’m upright long enough to pick the good ones. 😉
New York-Tel Aviv-Yafo plus rental car up north, Jerusalem and many stops south, Athens, Cairo, Frankfurt, Denver. Pics as out of order as my noggin.😂✈️
Amazing, hard, likely my last big trip and definitely last 3rd world country but so worth it. I won’t spend this precious life scared but I will pump the breaks a bit more. ❤️
All the love and praise to the one above and the man by my side picking up the pieces. 🫶

Queen Elizabeth I and her mother Anne Boleyn. Lele doesn’t like her face of social and this might be our last year coordinating but I’ll soak up the sweetness where I can. ❤️
These two love deep dives into history and I’m here for it. 💪👸
Happy Halloween 👻 ⚠️
Please deck your kids out in lights and reflection and drive silly slow. Kids dash across without looking quite a bit tonight. Let’s keep it sweet over scary. 🙏✌️
❤️
Story time. I haven’t been peaceful but I want to be. ☺️
I do. So I’m here to talk about peace. ☮️
Maybe if you posted about the problem, you can post about the solution?
May we wake up Sunday morning to a peace deal. May the suffering end. 🙏
If I’ve offended you especially on this topic I’m sorry. All I want is peace. There is a path forward. Let’s all speak up and support it.✌️
Sometimes I think brain injury made me all the more quick to furry but I was a polisci undergrad and have always loved a good debate. I have however not loved the last few years. I’m good with more peace. If you’re up for it, join me in speaking up for peace. 👍

L'Shana Tova! 🥰 As I recover from an accident, gentle walks are easing my back and nature's beauty is lifting my spirits. We surprised Ms. Sera with a new rug 😊😍, which brought her joy, though she's still obsessed with dog park adventures! An indoor dog park in Denver sounds like a dream! 🤣
Let's explore Colorado's hidden trails and find peace in the stillness.
This year, I'm focusing on self-care – meditation, stillness, and grounding. I hope to become more relaxed and less reactive. It's time for me to find my inner calm again. ❤️
Once I've strengthened my practice, I'll return to teaching and coaching, serving my community with compassion and wisdom. That's my intention.
May we all discover peace and tranquility in the new year. 🤘

I love you in all our imperfections, and I’d choose you again and again.
“The devil made a mess so I grabbed me a broom. So blessed.”
Here’s to more 5am sunrises in far flung places, making magic out of madness and longs walks after dark trying to sort it all out.

Dear community, Your support means the world! Sharing Tom's story has already brought us two promising leads tonight. Thank you for believing with us that we'll see our little prince again. Your faith and kindness give us strength.
Here’s an updated poster because apparently we need to highlight the word cash as well as some peaceful moments at the dog park tonight with Sera. Thank God, we have our little princess.

30 hours each way plus 5 south to see Redwoods and 5 north to see Bend. When I planned this trip a few years ago I envisioned bikes, camping and paddles. Then we grew our family a little bigger. 🐶
8 dog parks visited including one very cool doggie beach. Though the park websites are listed dog friendly. They don’t seem to be allowed on a single trail? Also most dog parks are now homeless encampments but we found a few nice ones in affluent towns.
3 national parks, all without seeing a single ranger…😳
Fortunately husband’s obsession with hotel loyalty means I’ve grown accustomed to tea time and comfy beds at the all the Marriott’s across America. We have yet to sleep all five of us in the van but I’m thrilled Sera is chill in a hotel. 😂
The pupper dominated the trip but the girls got plenty of beach time, thrifting and horse riding.
I wanted to see Bend because it is known for it’s very stable micro climate. I couldn’t believe how quickly I felt better. Bend is a little far from everything else so that idea will have to simmer a bit but it was a good bit of research even without wheels and paddles.
We managed to see Redwoods, Crater Lake and Arches in addition to many great local parks and beaches. Our van Bluey has really taken us all over and I’m so grateful for the journey. ✌️
