Red Wave Weddings

Shooting weddings during Covid times has become quite the challenge. Small crowds + masks all over. With challenges come opportunities though... this is a composite of over 50 images. It took me two days to complete. And Photoshop almost ate my computer alive. I’m pretty happy with the result. To really capture the epicness of this picture though... you’ll have to see it large and full screen, which is not really possible on IG. Oh well, one day.

With everything going on, I am happy to be able to capture scenes like this during my engagement session with and in Eldorado Canyon last weekend. Mmmm... Mountains....

Ring shots are something I always try to do at every wedding. I set those up at the end of the night with some lights and a softbox. I always try to use something from the wedding (table decorations, followers, etc) as a prop and it always turns out great. Give those a try for your wedding too!

The getting ready portion of a wedding can certainly produce some fun shots! Always consider including your photographers in the getting ready part of your day. And always two photographers. One for the bride and one for the groom!

When you need your bros, and you’re lucky they’re right next to you at the altar. 🙏😁

Aside from the formal group shots at the alter after the family photos, I like to get something a little different for the wedding party. I have this thing I like to do where I stagger couples and set them up like a Mad Men shoot. I think they turn out just right! Another one from Erin and Braden’s wedding at the Historic Crags Lodge at Estes Park.

No matter what they say, it’s also a very special day for the groom! I always recommend having 2 photographers at your wedding. The way we do it here at Red Wave Weddings is by having the lead photographer stay with the bride, while the 2nd focuses on the groom before their first look or ceremony. This allows us to work as a team and also capture the groom getting ready and even do some portraits before the chaos of the day takes over. @ Colorado
