Orca Action Month is officially here!!
A month originally stared by Orca Network to bring together researchers, advocates, and orca lovers to raise awareness and take action to protect theses incredible animals. In partnership with Orca Salmon Alliance, it's grown into a movement to help recover Southern Resident Killer Whales.
Whale Scout is a member of Orca Salmon Alliance and is excited to be hosting two Orca centered events at the former Wayne Golf Course:
June 6th (this weekend!!)
"Orca Action Month Kick-off Event"
10am - 1pm
June 20th
Volunteer Habitat Restoration Event with Gay For Good
10am - 1pm
This month reminds us that the future of these marine species relies on our collective action. When we protect orcas, we protect the future for all of us💙
Visit orcamonth.org to see upcoming events, webinars, petitions, and many ways to take meaningful action.
Together, we can be the catalyst for change.

The City of Bothell's Parks and Recreation Department is developing a Wayne Open Space Action Plan. Your input is being requested to help imagine the future of the park! Please attend the second open house session to be sure your voice is heard. You do not need to be a Bothell resident to attend.
Whale Scout is a Bothell-based nonprofit organization that has engaged the community in salmon habitat restoration at this park since 2019. The park represents one of the last significant places where river restoration benefitting salmon can take place within an urban watershed. Opportunities for ecological restoration, wildlife viewing, recreational experiences, and community benefits to mental health, connections to nature, and education are boundless, but the city needs to hear from you! Please play a role in imaging this amazing space! If you care for this park, have visited, or volunteered, please attend! Learn more about Whale Scout's involvement on our website.
📣Open House Reminder: Thursday, May 28, from 6-8pm at Bothell City Hall.
This is the second open house for the Wayne Open Space Action Plan. The event will feature opening remarks and a presentation from the project team, followed by opportunities to meet one-on-one with park staff and project consultants.

New MATCH! Doubled Donations for a Truck NOW until May 31!
Together, we raised $3,630 during the GiveBIG campaign. NOW, a donor has pledged to contribute an additional $3,500 towards a new truck.
If we can unlock just $2,185 of this match during GiveBIG, we will reach our goal of $8,000 for this campaign!
If we attain this goal, we will have raised a grand total of $15,000 towards our goal of $20,000. The more we can raise, the better and more reliable truck we can afford.

Today is the day!
Whale Scout needs your help to get a new truck! 🚛💙
Our current truck is nearing the end of its life, and we rely on it every day to power our restoration work. A new truck will be a game changer—helping us haul water to keep plants thriving through the hot summer months, move tarps full of invasive blackberries, transport native plants for future planting events, and even parade our beloved Mike the Inflatable Orca! 🐋
Every mile this truck travels will support healthier habitats and stronger ecosystems in our community. Donate today to help us keep the work moving forward!
