๐ UWB Veterans Day Flag Planting Event Recap ๐บ๐ธ
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a moving and impactful Flag Planting Event in honor of Veterans Day. Together, we honored the sacrifices and resilience of our veterans by planting flags across campus, each representing the service and courage of those who have worn the uniform.
Remarks from Ricardo Estrada, Student Veterans Association Chapter President:
โThank you all for gathering as we honored our veterans on this special occasion. As we prepared to plant these flags, we took a moment to reflect on the profound sacrifices made by the men and women who served our country.
Each flag we planted represents not just a soldier, sailor, marine, airman, guardian, or coast guardsman, but a story of courage, resilience, and dedication. This flag planting was more than a simple act; it became a powerful symbol of gratitude, a reminder of the bravery required to defend our nation and protect our liberties.
As we placed these flags into the ground, we thought about the values they representโhonor, duty, and sacrifice. I encouraged each of you to talk to a veteran, share a story, or express your appreciation, not only on that day but in our everyday lives.
As we concluded this flag planting ceremony, we carried forward the legacy of our veterans by committing ourselves to the values they fought for. Together, we made this campus a place where their sacrifices are remembered and celebrated every day.โ
Thank you for helping us make this event so meaningful. Letโs continue to honor and support our veteran community on campus and beyond.
