Parasaurolophus

Thanks once again to Jason Poole for his dinosaur drawing classes for the assignment to draw this Parasaurolophus skull. I'm not sure it's 100% done yet but the stippling part is done.

New Drawing! First in a LONG time.

Life kind of went nuts for most of 2021. My family had job loss, career changes, moved across several states, kids ending one virtual school year, I taught 13 summer camps in 10 weeks, big kid starting in person school in a new state/district/school, problems with getting daycare for the little one, completing a teaching certificate, and all sorts of stuff. So art has taken a back seat for most of this year.

This is my five day progression on this Trex skull done for Jason Poole's Drawing Skulls class online. Graphite pencils on a 17x14in sketch pad. It's not done but it's "finished" as far as getting it done for class and the time I have to work on it before the next assignment starts.

I'm working on getting back into inking, watercolors, and personal art. Thanks for sticking around!

Here's the finished Allosaurus from Jason Poole's paleo-osteology art class! The back foot is a little messed up but I'm over all happy with it.
I absolutely loved this class and I totally recommend that people take one of his classes. Jason is a ton of fun and really knows his stuff. He also has great stories about being on dig sites.

This will be my last dinosaur post for awhile I think. I've got a commission to work on, summer camp name buttons to design, camps to plan, and normal life stuff. So I'll finally be posting something else! Thanks for hanging in with me while I took these drawing classes!

Allosaurus claudel vertebrae thanks to Jason Poole's paleo-osteology drawing class.
I'm loving Covid for giving me opportunities to take classes like this one. It's the one perk.

Fantastic new exhibit: Savage Ancient Seas! I had a great time sitting in the exhibit drawing the Pachyrhizodus caninus. Wish I'd had more time to get to drawing more. I took lots of reference photos though.

Day 14 (yesterday) Salamander

Never used my colored inks before so it was an interesting experiment. Might redo this one some time.

Seahorse! I love drawing seahorses.

Not following any particular prompt list this year. I'm teaching an art class, substitute teaching preschool to elementary students, home-schooling, and normal life stuff all this month. I'll post pieces as I get them done.

WIP Inktober Art show piece due next week. Next post should be the finished piece. Thanks everyone for following along!
Lighting is kinda meh today in the coffee shop. But the bats are nearly done! Do another bunch of flowers, finish the eyes that I'm afraid to mess up, and some touch up details. It's been stressful finishing up with all my non-art life stuff but I'm in love with this piece!

WIP Think the wings are done, or nearly so. Finishing up noses and ears today and starting on the first layer of fur lines! Once the bars are done I'll start filling in the background with Durian flowers.

This year's Monster Project is coming along! Little space cat who like icecream, cotton candy, and dreams of flying! Thank you to the for letting me adopt this little Monster from one of the sweet kindergarteners!

The Monster Project has Kindergartners submit a monster they've drawn with a few personality details. Then the art is "adopted" out to be redone in the adult artist's style. The finished pieces are actioned off to fund further children's art/music programs for at-risk children and the larger community!

I haven't drawn in a LOooNG time. I was homeschooling through the Covid shutdown and now I'm teaching summer camps. I'm just now starting to carve out some time to do art. This project means so much to me. It's an absolute privilege to be able to participate.
