‘ Black Girl American Horror Story is out!

I am so incredibly proud to have shared a little slice of the creation of this album. The amount of focused intention, impassioned zeal, and sheer time (4.5 years!) and have brought to life in this project is difficult to describe with words alone. There are certainly many more to thank for its honing and cultivation.

I am also indescribably grateful for the opportunity to have written and arranged violin parts. You can catch one of the most outwardly haunting moments on the album embodied within my violin solo and electronic accompaniment on Track 9: Weirdo. There are patterns within patterns in that solo that I take from the darkest classical music I know, especially uses of my dark nonatonic scale, patterns of the number 5, chromaticism, diminished seventh arpeggiations, and a blistering use of tone to create a build and climactic point. The key center of Eb minor really brings out the struggle between the player and the instrument— I’m barely able to sustain the notes in a place of acceptable intonation as my instrument desperately searches for any open-string notes or harmonics to resonate but finds only the terminal note in the scale: D-natural to resonate with.

is releasing her debut album: Black Girl American Horror Story on October 10th at . This project has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding musical experiences I have ever worked on, and I invite you to share our space to see the results.

We’re preparing a lot for this show— get ready for dancers, a full band, epic solo moments, and most of all: earth shattering, emotional vocals from Teza herself!

We have and opening— what an incredible bill. Check out these artists if you have not yet.

Most of all, remember that there is horror within us all, and fear is always the precursor to understanding and perspective.

This’ll be my first CHBP, and I get to perform twice! What a thrill! Catch me performing shows with and

I’m incredibly proud to announce that my dear friend Bobby Odle ( ) wrote an album for our chamber-folk ensemble about grief, mental illness, love, and loss.

In order for us to record it, we’re looking at three days of studio time together as a group. We won’t be doing this the modern way, with multitracking and with digital audio. Rather, our group is opting to record every track in one take, on tape, in order to preserve the meaning of the tracks in every aspect of recording, mixing, and mastering.

For this reason, we’re asking of our supporters to donate to our Kickstarter campaign. We have budgeted out mixing, mastering, payment of musicians, Kickstarter’s cut, pressing to vinyl, printing CDs, production of rewards, pr/media, and many other aspects to really get this album off the ground, and we still have until February 4th to reach our $15k goal!

It’s all-or-nothing, so if we don’t reach the goal, we’ll have to figure out something else. Nobody’s card gets charged until the campaign is over and only if we hit our goal. Additionally, there are many rewards available to those who donate. You can get yourself a copy of the music digitally or physically, we have a limited quantity of lyric books available as a reward, you can come and see us at sound check, get yourself a t-shirt, or my personal favorite: Bobby and I teaming up to learn any song of your choice to record and post on YouTube and cross-platform with a shoutout!

Please help us and support the project. I’m excited beyond measure for this release and can’t wait to see what comes next for us as musicians and as friends.
