I am honored to announce that the First Legislative District of the Washington State Democratic Party offered me their sole endorsement for my candidacy for State Representative Position 2 at Saturday’s endorsement meeting.

Many Americans do not know that it is party members of the local legislative districts that keep democracy running. They are the front lines in the fight to protect democracy with the time they spent vetting and interviewing candidates for local, state and federal office. These are then the same people who put their time, talent and treasure towards helping endorsed candidates win.

I am grateful to have earned the trust and support of the 1st Legislative District Democrats. Can’t wait to get out there, knock some doors and talk to voters.

In perhaps the least surprising endorsement announcement you could expect from me:

I’ve officially endorsed Whole Washington!

Whole Washington is a grassroots coalition of healthcare professionals, activists and volunteers from all sectors, age groups, and perspectives across the State of Washington. Our common belief is that healthcare is a human right, and with that principle in mind, they are passionately fighting for a Universal Healthcare system to serve all of us.

If you haven’t already you should check them out at www.wholewashington.org and follow them on Facebook at Whole Washington, Twitter, and Instagram.

Endorsement Alert!

Amy Cast's support means a lot to me. Together we are colleagues on the board of Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness and I often turned to her when she was serving on the Northshore School board to advocate for students and my children's special needs. She is a strong and dynamic leader in education in Washington state, including working closely with the Washington State School Directors' Association. Thank you Amy for supporting this campaign for State Representative!

📢 New candidate alert! 📢

Bothell’s Deputy Mayor is running for state representation to serve the 1st legislative district in Olympia.

In 2021, Jenne set a bold vision for Bothell’s future and she brought clarity and purpose to the biggest issues facing the city. By centering equity and bringing community voices into the public process, Jenne helped ensure a balanced budget for the city, a fully staffed police department and a fully built-out crisis continuum of care. They also championed economic opportunity, climate resilience and housing affordability in the city of Bothell.

Jenne is running to represent the 1st so that our communities continue to be vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable. With your vote, they will continue working to improve our region’s transportation connections to the rest of the Puget Sound, increase housing options for working class residents, and build compassionate, trauma-informed systems of care for residents who struggle the most.

Jenne will bring renewed clarity and purpose to the state house which is exactly what our state needs. We need leaders willing to take on the biggest issues facing Washington.

Today's the last day to make a big impact. YOU can help advance two aspirational universal healthcare bills to the next committee.

The opposition has been mobilized, but so far, they're outnumbered. Last night's tallies were:

SJR 8206 (Constitutional Amendment to enshrine affordable healthcare for every WA resident)

PRO: 2438
CON: 633
**********
SB 5947 (Begins statewide universal healthcare implementation when feds grant waivers)

PRO: 1750
CON: 609

NOTE - the CONs increased their count by 600 in one day. We must stay WAY out in front. Do this only once, but make sure you do it and share!

And please make those calls and send those emails to your Senators today! We've made it easy on our Action Page.

Washington Community Alliance’s election map shows me leading in every precinct in Bothell as vote counting wraps up.

I am honored to have such widespread support across the city, and this win only gives me more energy to center inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking policies to serve all our community members.
