Thank you to The Mars Volta for having me out in Boston this past weekend! Was truly a privilege to photograph one of my favorite bands who I honestly never thought I would get to see live.

Even though I've been tour managing We Were Promised Jetpacks on this run, still managed to catch two of Weakened Friends sets at SXSW. Working for your friends is the best.

I've been out on the road with Weakened Friends for the last couple of weeks. Being back on tour has been such an A) massive change from being essentially stuck in Greater Boston for the last year-plus and B) an incredible reminder of why I love doing this. The band has two more shows, I have one - thanks for stopping by.

New band just dropped! Say hello to 5ever, a new pop punk band out of Boston that will have you yearning for the days of teaching yourself HTML and CSS so you can make your personal MySpace page look SLICK. My friend Alex pinged me about doing some slick, bright promos as well as individual portraits for this new project and I of course said yes. Their new EP, '5ever Forever' is out on 9/10 (also was able to capture the back cover art ;))

My friends in Actor|Observer are releasing a "press to order" new single, "White Mare," which is a pretty cool and unique idea. They asked me to help out with some photo work on this, which, in addition to promotional photos, involved a lot of film and detail work. Some of those images will be released in the future. Hey all! Looking to be more active on this channel because...internet. But ALSO excited to say that later today, if you're in the Boston area, you'll be able to pick up a physical version of one of my photos as part of Zone 3's Art In Print program! This initiative works with local artists to print visual works on newsprint and make them available to the public for purchase for 25 cents (yes artists are compensated for the use of the work). It's an awesome way that Zone 3 highlights local visual artists. Anyway, the prints are going into the boxes later today - you'll be able to find mine at the Western Ave location of Pavement Coffee!

My friend Lindsey's been in town for a bit and we haven't shot together in a few years - so a couple weeks back I broke out the Mamiya RZ67 and a roll of Ektar 100 and we hung around Lower Allston. Hang out with your friends when you get a chance, seriously, you never know when you'll go two years between seeing each other.

I've been running for a while, either as its own thing, or as training / a necessary part of another sport. Outside of that, prior to 2017, I didn't know much about the community or culture of running. There's still a lot I don't know. Going to Boston College and living in Boston was a great primer into running culture: obviously I'm talking about the Boston Marathon.

Last month I got an email from Andy at Tracksmith asking if I was available to capture images of a runner who had been running a marathon every weekend since last April. A good chunk of the run would take place at the Harvard Tempo Loop, a piece of real estate with which myself and countless other Boston runners are intimately familiar. I took a look at the forecast for the day - cloudy, snowing, about 15 degrees. Immediate yes.

That Journal piece for Meter is now live - Amory Rowe, a friend of Neil's (the runner in question) does an amazing job of profiling the why, the how, the what of this. Why people choose to take on physical strain, put their body through a painful, yet meditative routine that just works for them.
