Two nights, two parks, one message: Somerville is ready for a Senator who delivers.
Thank you to everyone who came out to Slice of the City this week, in Ward 1 at Chuckie Harris Park and Ward 6 at Powder House Park. Pizza, neighbors, and real conversations about what's on people's minds. Rising rents, the cost of groceries, the future of the T, and what we do to protect our immigrant neighbors from the Trump administration.
These are the types conversations that built my record on Beacon Hill and will guide my work in the Senate.
See you at the next Slice.
When Jenny Graham spoke at our kickoff, she reminded everyone in the room what's actually at stake in this race: whether our kids get the schools they deserve.
Jenny has spent years fighting for Medford students as School Committee Chair. Her voice is one I trust on education, and she made the case for this campaign better than I could. Thank you, Jenny, for standing with us.
Progressive values mean nothing without progressive results. Our kids deserve both.

Change doesn’t just happen — it takes persistence and commitment. I was reminded of that tonight when I had the honor of speaking at Tufts University TUPIT’s MyTERN graduation for formerly incarcerated people.
Educational opportunities are integral to criminal justice reform and re-entry support, and can help pave the way to real justice. I’m proud to be a partner by getting state funding for this program.
The amount of dedication in the room tonight proved that we are a stronger community when we empower each other. Thank you to the entire team at TUPIT and congratulations to the incredible graduates!

For , today I joined an incredible conversation at Greentown Labs about the climate challenges facing our communities and what Massachusetts must do to meet this moment.
As Chair of the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, I believe the work of building a sustainable, equitable future happens not just through legislation, but through exactly these kinds of conversations, where advocates, experts, and residents come together to push our thinking forward.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and Victoria for leading the climate salon. The work continues.

The House budget is where progressive values transform into real action — and I am proud to report that this year, we delivered for Medford, Somerville, and beyond.
I secured $375,000 in local funding and $1.9 million in statewide investments — here is exactly where that money goes:
Local Amendments:
— $175,000 for Somerville’s Massachusetts Bay Veterans Center, run by Volunteers of America, to support transitional employment and behavioral health services for homeless veterans
— $100,000 for Robotics Programming in Medford Public Schools
— $50,000 for CTE Access in Medford, including transportation for students to access career technical education activities — $50,000 for Pop-up food pantries at Somerville schools and monthly grocery funds to Somerville families through Food For Free.
Statewide Amendments:
— $1,500,000 distributed across all 28 Massachusetts YMCAs to support low-income youth mental health, social-emotional learning, and summer jobs programs
— $350,000 for the New England Brain Sciences Institute, to provide cutting-edge brain treatment for veterans and first responders with psychiatric conditions
— $50,000 for Therapy Matcher, funding free personalized referrals to licensed behavioral health providers for Massachusetts residents.
This is what turning progressive values into results looks like.
Progressive rhetoric does not protect people. Progressive legislation does.

This afternoon, Somerville got some extra company on the doors!
House and Senate staff from the State House volunteered to come out to knock doors for our campaign today. I started my career as a State House staffer, so I know exactly what it takes to give up a free afternoon for a cause you believe in. These are people who understand what progressive legislation actually looks like from the inside, and they chose to spend their time fighting for this campaign.
That is not something I take for granted.
Thank you to every single person who came out today!

Proud to spend the morning at Brooks Estate for Medford's city-wide cleanup day.
Clean parks, open green spaces, and thriving public land are not small things. They are the fabric of a healthy community.
Thank you to everyone who came out today. Medford shows up.

Happy May Day! Today I joined SEU members in Somerville to stand with the workers who keep our communities running.
I stood with neighbors at the Mystic Mashup demanding that Citizens Bank stop financing private ICE detention facilities, because no local institution should profit from the detention of our neighbors.
And I closed the evening the right way: in community at the Medford May Day potluck, celebrating the movement that has always been built by ordinary people refusing to accept the world as it is.
May Day belongs to the workers, the organizers, and the neighbors who show up, not just today, but every day. That is the tradition we carry forward.

Today I joined the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators and our legislative colleagues to recognize Denim Day.
This worldwide movement brings awareness to the ongoing prevalence of sexual assault and the need to provide compassion, support, and justice to survivors.
Every day survivors show incredible resilience in the face of violence. I am proud not only to stand in solidarity with survivors in Massachusetts, but to continue advocating for justice system reforms and funding for the services survivors need to heal.
The state budget is where progressive values meet real decisions, and I am fighting hard for Medford and Somerville this week.
My priorities: fully funding the Student Opportunity Act, expanding ConnectorCare so more families can afford health coverage, and protecting food banks and programs for children with autism. I also filed amendments for our YMCAs, Medford Public Schools, veterans experiencing homelessness, and food programs in Somerville.
This is what turning progressive values into results looks like.
