Our Saheli Walk was a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with purpose. In partnership with India Society of Worcester , we walked not only to raise awareness, but to stand in solidarity with survivors and families affected by domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month - a time to recognize the realities of domestic violence, amplify the voices of survivors, and remind our communities that abuse is never acceptable, never deserved, and never something anyone should have to face alone.

Awareness is the first step. Speaking up, supporting survivors, educating ourselves, and building communities where everyone feels safe are how we create lasting change.

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

30 years ago, the founders of Saheli began a journey rooted in one fundamental belief: everyone deserves to feel safe. Today, we continue that journey by standing with survivors of gender-based violence and supporting individuals and families as they work toward safety, stability, and empowerment.

Everyone deserves a safe environment.
Everyone deserves to live without fear.
Everyone deserves a healthy home and a violence-free family.

For 30 years, Saheli has stood with survivors, and we will continue to do so. 💜

This October, we honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence, and reaffirm our commitment to building communities where safety is a right, not a privilege.

Saheli stands with survivors. Today, this month, and always.

It is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing that even in 2026, we are still fighting for accountability for sexual violence.

The recent cases are painful reminders of how often women are silenced, questioned, and failed by the very systems meant to protect them.

At Saheli, we stand with every survivor of sexual abuse. We stand with those who have found the courage to speak up and those who are still suffering in silence.

Sexual violence should never be normalized, excused, or brushed aside. Survivors deserve dignity, safety, justice, and above all, to be heard.

No more silence. No more excuses. Accountability matters.

Saheli’s Executive Director, Deepali Gulati, was honored to be part of this important panel, joining community leaders and advocates to discuss domestic violence, survivor support, and the power of collaboration in creating safer communities.

We are delighted to share that Deepali Gulati, Executive Director of Saheli Boston, has been appointed by Governor Maura Healey to the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking.

This appointment recognizes Deepali’s dedication to supporting survivors, strengthening communities, and advancing meaningful change in the fight against gender-based violence.

We are incredibly proud to see her voice and experience represented at the state level as she continues this important work on behalf of survivors and communities across Massachusetts.
