JPNDC
Community. Prosperity. Results. Rooted in Jamaica Plain, working for a more equitable Boston. Comunidad. Prosperidad. Resultados. Con raíces en Jamaica Plain.
Trabajando por un Boston equitativo. JPNDC's mission is to transform the lives and amplify the voices of Boston residents who have been excluded from prosperity by an inequitable economic system. We develop affordable housing that allows people to thrive, provide services that help people build on their strengths, and organize people to pursue the changes they desire.

Members of the Resident Advocacy, Mobility, and Wellness Pathways (RAMWP) team had the opportunity to attend the Boston Public Health Commission’s Community Convening for Brain Health and Dementia Risk Reduction.
The event brought together community leaders, healthcare professionals, advocates, and organizations committed to advancing awareness, prevention, and equity in brain health across our communities. We appreciated the meaningful conversations around dementia risk reduction, culturally responsive outreach, and the importance of collaboration in supporting healthy aging.
Thank you to the Boston Public Health Commission for creating space for learning, partnership, and action. RAMWP is proud to be part of these important conversations and remains committed to supporting community-centered approaches to health and wellness.

Advocacy changes lives. With the support and persistence of Liolga Atiles, RAMWP Case Manager, a JPNDC resident had her housing voucher reinstated, resolving over $16,000 in arrears and restoring housing stability. This is the power of steady, compassionate advocacy in action.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first Small Business Activation Series event focused on access to capital and building strong financial foundations for small businesses. It was incredible to see so many entrepreneurs, business owners, and community members come together to learn, connect, and invest in the future of their businesses.
A special thank you to our panelists Jimmy Pauris an Advisor to Business Owners and Investors Navigating IRS Issues, Eddy Desir from Cambridge Savings Bank, Chris Hunter from Local Enterprise Assistance Fund, and Jeanette Velasquez from Velasquez Tax & Business Services for sharing their expertise, experiences, and valuable insights with our community. Your guidance helped create a meaningful and informative conversation for small business owners looking to better access and manage capital.
Thank you again to everyone who showed up and made the event such a success.

We were excited to welcome students from the Designing Environmental and Social Impact DESI program, a semester long paid internship run by the Hideo Sasaki Foundation, for a tour of JPNDC’s 3371 Washington Street development currently under construction.
The future affordable housing community will include 39 permanently affordable senior apartments along with an activity space designed to support connection and community.
During the visit, JPNDC’s Real Estate team led a mini training on the affordable housing development process, giving students a behind the scenes look at how projects move from early planning to construction and completion.
It was inspiring to connect with the next generation of designers and community leaders and share the importance of equitable housing and mission driven development in strengthening our neighborhoods.

JPNDC is deeply thankful to Senator Mike Rush for sponsoring and Senator Liz Miranda for co-sponsoring a $100,000 earmark in the FY27 Senate Budget in support of our Micro-to-Small Business Services Program. This critical investment can strengthen our ability to provide technical assistance, individualized financial coaching, business education workshops, and financial assistance to local entrepreneurs.
Support like this helps ensure that micro and small businesses in our community have access to the tools and guidance they need to grow and scale. We are grateful to Senator Mike Rush and Senator Liz Miranda for their commitment to economic prosperity and neighborhood-based micro and small business development.

Big thanks to everyone who came out for the third planning meeting for the 3rd Annual Jackson Square Peace Walk. JPNDC’s Cristal Martinez, Associate Director of Community Organizing, brought together Jackson Square Lifting Our Voices for Safety Building Captains and Hyde Square Task Force youth leaders for another productive session.
Together, the group continued shaping the vision for this year’s Peace Walk. We appreciate all of the community partners and local leaders helping move this effort forward.
Looking forward to continuing the work together!
