The tropical blue velvet worm is found only in northern Queensland, Australia. Despite its 15 pairs of legs, it moves quite slowly. But if caught unawares, even the fastest prey are no match for the velvet worm’s glue-like slime, which it shoots from its face to immobilize other invertebrates.
