Happy Easter! He is Risen! Wishing everyone a holy and meaningful Easter from Dignity Boston! As a reminder no service today.

Celebrated yearly on March 31, Trans Day of Visibility honors the lives, successes, and contributions of transgender and gender-varied individuals all around. The day aims to draw attention to the prejudice, systemic violence, and societal exclusion experienced by trans and gender non conforming groups.

This and everyday is a call to action to radical question, confront, and sabotage systems that commit violence against our trans family, friends, neighbors, and community. Especially those of us from Catholic and Christian communities have a particular obligation to fight back against the Christian Nationalist/Fascist rhetoric and its agenda fueling anti trans legislation.

Trans is holy. Trans is divine. Trans is unbounded.

Zoom Social tonight at 7pm! Haiku is a short form of poetry which originated in Japan. We wrote haiku in a Zoom social in April 2020, in the setting of the early stages of the COVID19 pandemic, and we look forward to revisiting this art form. No prior experience necessary. Tomorrow Feb. 24th at 8:30pm EST, we will be having our monthly Dignity Young Adult meeting. This group meets once a month online and a chance to meet and connect with other LGBTQ Catholics. Mostly people in their mid 20s to early 30s. Hope to see you there!

We remember. We fight. We hope. Today we choose awareness over fear, facts over stigma, and empathy over judgment. We stand with those we have lost their lives to and with those living with HIV/AIDS. ACT UP! FIGHT BACK! END AIDS!

Today marks the first Sunday of Advent. A season of preparation and reflection. The first week of Advent centers around the theme of hope. What is hope? How is it even possible to be hopeful nowadays? Seems far fetched and obscured. But this is what we get to wrestle with this week and make meaning in the dark. So let’s walk at least together and make some light.

Today we honor the memory of transgender and gender-nonconforming people whose lives were taken by violence, discrimination, and hate. We remember their names, their stories, and the love they brought into the world.

Trans Day of Remembrance is not only a moment of reflection. It is a call to action. A call to protect trans lives, uplift trans voices, and fight for a future where everyone can live openly and safely.

The divine is unbounded and so should our commitment to the lives of trans and gender non conforming people!
