🌡 Check before you donate! 🌡 The fridge may get a little hot in this summer weather. Rule of thumb: If the fridge is above 40°F and the freezer is above 0°F, stay away from perishables. Instead, donate sports drinks, bread, and hardy fruits and vegetables (eat your water!). The pantry is open for dry goods as usual.

Huge news! 🗣 The Boston Community Fridge is one of five local community fridges partnering with to provide wholesale produce, dairy, and more every week! Katsiroubas will deliver the goods to the fridge every Monday. This exciting new partnership is made possible by a grant through community health and wellness program. 💪 We’re so grateful and excited!

🚨Big news: We replaced the fridge today!🚨
Due to significant wear and tear, we decided to retire our old watermelon-themed refrigerator. A HUGE thank you to the community member who stepped up to donate this one (and all of its stickers), which has been thoroughly cleaned and plugged in. We will begin accepting donations TONIGHT as soon as it has a chance to cool down! 🥵

This past weekend marked one full year since the Jamaica Plain Community Fridge kicked off the community fridge movement in Greater Boston! 🤯 From D’Friends Barber Shop to City Feed and Supply, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come and the number of fridges that have since popped up around Massachusetts.
