Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Becoming Liberated & Knowledgeable Conference. What started as just a vision over two years ago has manifested into an unforgettable experience that has opened minds to new approaches when addressing issues that surround the black community. As we takeaway the valuable knowledge shared in this conference, let us not forget to “say yes” to all the opportunities we are faced with. Including opportunities that bring the greatest challenges, because that’s where the highest achievements are accomplished. Thank you to our executive team, speakers, and volunteers. KEYNOTE SPEAKER LASELLA L. HALL

LaSella L. Hall serves at the NAACP New England Area Conference Youth and College Advisor. In his keynote, he talked about the topics of deconstruction and reconstruction of values and beliefs that have been unconsciously taught growing up as a black male.

Join Dr. Keith Jones and Dr. Aminah Pilgrim as they showcase Valerio Lopes’ 2011 documentary film Cabralista and discuss what liberation means for members of the black diaspora in today’s society.

Join Danny Rivera and learn about how art functions as a medium for political protest and social activism. Promote an urgency of self-confidence coupled with self-awareness and encourage artists to think about what and why they pursue their passions.

Join Jazelynn Goudy as she engages participants in the rich history of black dance. Explore what liberation means for members of the black diaspora in today’s society.
