Maria was incredibly helpful! She is very knowledgeable and took the time to understand my issues and really customize my treatment plan!

I found Fit & Function Therapy on Instagram while dealing with runner's knee and a frustrating, three-year battle with an Achilles and ankle injury. Ben was amazing to work with. As a fellow runner and cyclist, his personal experience truly shined through in his approach to my care. Instead of just telling me to rest, his strategy focused on active pain management while systematically strengthening the surrounding muscles. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to return to full training in just 6 to 8 weeks. I cannot recommend Fit & Function enough—I have visited several other PTs in the valley with mixed results, but Ben actually provided me with a sustainable plan to stay healthy as I pursue trail running and cycling.— Matt

I found Fit & Function Therapy through an Instagram add and really appreciated the idea of working with a therapist that specialized in running injuries. In the past I had worked with physical therapists that did a handful of assessments but it felt like they never fully understood what was going on and how to help me. In the end I stoped going and was still in pain. When I started working with Ben I could tell he really cared and asked questions to fully understand what was going on with my injury. He focused on strengthening my foundations as a runner, and taught me how to slowly work towards my goal of getting back to running pain free.

My husband has been having back pain for several years. The PTs there were excellent and went above and beyond to get to the root cause as to why he was getting this back pain. I appreciated the approach of root cause instead of managing and dealing with the current incident. Maria was extremely thorough and my husband felt heard and that she truly cared. We would recommend this to anyone!! He hasn't had back pain in several months now.

The best runners aren’t built on summer mileage alone.

The strongest athletes train with intention. The summer off-season is no exception.

Groundwork is the approach to summer development for high school distance runners:
• strength & conditioning
• recovery & fueling
• mental performance
• injury prevention
• long-term athlete development

Built by an integrated team of coaches, physical therapists, nutrition experts, and mental performance specialists.

Because the goal isn’t just running more.

It’s building resilient athletes who stay healthy, improve consistently, and compete with confidence.

Roots run deep.

Groundwork was built around a simple idea:

High school distance runners need more than summer mileage.

The best athletes are not just the ones who train the hardest. They’re the ones who stay healthy, recover well, fuel properly, develop confidence, and build long-term durability.

This is NOT a running prescription program or summer running camp.

Athletes will continue following their own coach’s running plan while using Groundwork to build the strength, resilience, and habits that support long-term development.

This 8-week summer program combines Strength + Conditioning with Athlete Education in the areas of:

🏋️ Strength Development
🧠 Confidence + Leadership
🦴 Injury Resilience
🥗 Nutrition + Recovery
🎯 Mental Performance

Each weekly 1-hour session includes:
•30 minutes of guided strength and conditioning
•30 minutes of focused athlete education from local experts

🏅 Athletes will learn from a uniquely collaborative team of local specialists in coaching, performance, nutrition, physical therapy, and mental performance.

Few high school runners ever get access to this level of collaborative athlete development support.

Groundwork is designed for motivated runners looking to stay healthier, train smarter, and build long-term confidence in the sport.

I am so grateful that I found Savannah Hoskyn, DPT at Fit and Function Therapy Solutions after attending a community event discussing pelvic health and running.Savannah is a highly skilled physical therapist who is personable and thoughtful. I also find it easy to discuss more sensitive issues related to pelvic health with her. She takes time with her assessment, thinks outside the box and always has my goals at the heart of the discussion. Savannah truly provides patient centered care.
