Movement Lab, Stage One, Writing Lab oh my!!

We are offering A Weekend Flash Lab - "Movement Lab" January 26th and 27th, 10am-2pm both days. This session is focused for theater artists ages 14 and Up (with special exceptions). Here are the deets:

Movement Lab $75 -Taught by SITI trained Lisa Lechner and Assoc. Artistic Director Dwayne Blackaller.

So you’re on stage, now what? Whether you’re a natural mover or you feel like your body is an alien spacecraft, this is for you! We tend to go to sleep when it comes to using our body as a performance tool because, hey - I don’t need an operating manual, I’ve been walking for years!
Well, what if there is actually more to that story? (We assure you there is.. ) Come Play!
The Alexander Technique - Moving Anatomy, Use, Form and Function, Presence, the body as an event! (How do we actually stand up and sit down?)

The Suzuki Method - Rigorously training physical and mental focus; Attempting to specifically (exquisitely) articulate the human body in space over time, with intention in prescribed forms. Oh yeah - and speaking!

Viewpoints - Take the amazing Chi you’ve just generated and flex those artistic muscles further working spontaneously in a group. Through in-depth studies of time and space, practice observing the present moment and responding with flexibility, intuition and interest.

Composition/Devising - Now that we’ve done all that, let’s make something!

Come down the rabbit hole and explore what is uniquely you in how you move and make physically articulate choices, for yourself and in a group. We promise, you’ll never be the same again.
