Mr. Tyler Dale and Mr. Mike Williamson working together to get a sapling in a water box. These specialized boxes retain water throughout the summer ensuring the trees get the moisture they need.

The last two Wednesdays, our committee spent the evening on top of Lucky Peak planting trees after the Valley Fire of 2024. We planted roughly 50 ponderosa pines in the steep hills. Utilizing special “water boxes” helps ensure the saplings make it through the hot, dry summer.

Help Restore Habitat on the Boise River WMA!

Our NWTF Gem State Chapter is teaming up with Idaho Fish & Game for two evenings of handson habitat restoration and we’d love your help.

We’re planting trees in areas impacted by the 2024 Valley Fire, rebuilding critical winter range for deer and elk right here in the Boise Foothills. It’s meaningful work, great company, and a direct way to give back to the landscape and wildlife we all care about.

Huge thank you to the Nampa Bow Chiefs for having us at your Wednesday meeting to talk all things turkey hunting in Idaho.

Gem State Chapter committee member Mike Williamson walked through the basics—calling, behavior, and spring tactics—to help anyone looking to get into the game this season.

The Nampa Bow Chiefs share our commitment to supporting youth, and they’ve been outstanding partners in making our annual Jake’s Day a success. Their instructors and archery gear have helped countless kids get started with confidence and hit the targets fast. We were grateful for the chance to return the favor and contribute to their club this week.

Turkey hunting is still new territory for many Idaho hunters. If your group would enjoy a “Turkey 101” presentation, we’re always happy to share what we know—just reach out!
