We’re so excited to share the new edition of Spanish Intro! πŸŽ‰

After using the first edition with so many students, we took everything we learned and made it even better. What’s new:

βœ… More exercises
βœ… A bilingual glossary
βœ… A complete answer key
βœ… Much better audio

The book is written entirely in Spanish, which makes it perfect for immersion learning and a great fit for teachers to use in their classes.

πŸ‘‰ Saying: Π•Π·Π΄ΠΈΡ‚ΡŒ Π² Ву́лу со свои́м самова́ром.
πŸ‘‰ Literal translation: To travel to Tula with your own samovar.
πŸ‘‰ English Equivalent/Meaning: To carry coals to Newcastle. To do something redundant, unnecessary, or pointless by bringing or providing something to a place that already has plenty of it.

Origin:
Tula is a Russian city famous historically as a major center for manufacturing metal goods, especially samovars (traditional metal containers used to heat water for tea). Bringing your own samovar to Tula is like bringing water to the ocean; the city is already full of them.

Where in the world is this?! πŸŒ‹

This remote peninsula has over 160 volcanoes, some still active, alongside geysers, hot springs, and roaming brown bears. 🐻 There are barely any roads β€” most of it is only reachable by helicopter or boat.

Can you guess which country this volcanic peninsula belongs to? Comment below! πŸ‘‡

You've learned the slang. You've decoded the menu. You've figured out what to wear. Now let's talk about the stuff on your desk. πŸ’»πŸ“±

Even everyday objects don't translate the same across borders. The word for "computer" changes. So does "pen" β€” and one of them is literally a brand name that took over a whole country's vocabulary.

We put Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ, Mexico πŸ‡²πŸ‡½, and Argentina πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· head to head on the tech and everyday objects you use without thinking β€” until you're in the wrong country. πŸ˜…

This is Part 4 of our Same Spanish. Different Worlds. series. Missed the earlier ones? Start from the beginning β€” Common Expressions, Food & Drinks, and Clothing are all waiting. πŸ‘€

Which one surprised you most? Drop it in the comments. πŸ‘‡
