Hi Homeschool Families!
What an amazing September we're having!

Watching our kids come together each Wednesday has made me even more excited about what we’re building with Tapestry Homeschool Commons. The kids are playing, learning, making friends, and connecting—and every time I talk with a family personally, I hear how much they love the idea of having a consistent, affordable place for homeschool community and enrichment.

Now we need your help to officially launch it.
We need a minimum of 5 enrolled students per class to begin our full Homeschool Commons program in October.

Right now, we have two of our age groups are already very close to reaching the minimum if the families who have been attending and planning to join complete their registration.
We are SO close!

This program is pretty special. Every one of our providers is a local South Florida business. On their own, these classes would cost families considerably more. Our providers have partnered with us—and some have even reduced their regular rates—to help us create an affordable weekly program where homeschoolers can have:
⚽ Sports & PE
🎨 Art & creativity
🔬 STEM & hands-on learning
🤝 Consistent friendships and community
🏡 An amazing home base at the Boys & Girls Club
🎉 Monthly Friday community/holiday events included for enrolled families who would like to participate

And we're able to offer all of it for $220/month.
But for this model to work, we need families to take that next step from “We love this!” to “We’re in!”
If You Want Homeschool Commons, It's time to Officially Register

Your registration is more than paperwork. It shows our providers that we have a committed group of families and that we're ready to move forward together.
There are so many new homeschool families in South Florida looking for exactly this—classes, affordability, friendships, and community.
We can be that place.

If you're planning to join us, please don't wait for everyone else to register first. We need a little faith from each family to get us across the starting line.

Complete your registration, pay your registration/supply fee, and you're officially counted toward the five students we need to launch your child's class.

Using Step Up PEP or FES-UA funds? Your scholarship funds will be reserved for the October launch. If, for some unfortunate reason, we are unable to launch the class, those reserved funds will be returned.

Continue registering for our $25 September Pilot Days! Those registrations allow us to compensate Soccer Shots for their time while we build toward October—and every friend you invite helps us grow this community.

We have the space. We have the providers. We have the program. We have families who love it.
Now we just need YOU to say, “We’re in!” 💛

Boca homeschool friends—I need to find my person! ❤️
I need some help! I'm looking for one or possibly two local homeschool moms who would love to become part of what we're building at Tapestry in Boca Raton.

I need help with:
🏡 Wednesday mornings — Homeschool Commons
Our brand-new homeschool community at the Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton, with Art, STEM, Technology and PE. If you have a child age 5+, they can participate in the program with you.

🌎 Fridays — Enrichment Learning Day, through 2:30 p.m.
We do field trips, projects, activities and lots of fun things together. If you have a child age 10+, they can participate with you.

This could be one person who wants to help with both—or two different moms.

I'd especially love to find someone who is organized and comfortable on a computer and can help me behind the scenes with spreadsheets, student rosters, registrations, Step Up for Students paperwork/bookkeeping and all those little things that keep programs running.

And I would LOVE someone who is already connected in our homeschool community—someone who enjoys meeting families, spreading the word, inviting people to join us and helping us grow.

This is a paid part-time position, and your child can attend the program too.

Most importantly, I'm looking for someone dependable, friendly, organized, comfortable jumping in where needed, and excited about building community.

Come meet other homeschool families, get moving with Soccer Shots, and stick around for a fun Art + Science project, playground time, and connection.

⚽ 1-Hour Soccer/PE Trial — $25

Ages 5–10: 9:30–10:30 AM
Ages 11–16: 10:30–11:30 AM

Come just for your PE hour or stay longer! Hang out with us, do the project, meet other families, and enjoy the playground. You're also welcome to come for the whole morning and participate in the activities.

Wednesday, September 9 —
Free Trial & Welcome Day, 10 a.m.–11 a.m.

This is a chance for your child to meet other homeschoolers, get comfortable with our space, meet our team, and experience what we’re building at Tapestry Homeschool Commons.
There’s no commitment to enroll just to come try it.

September Schedule
Wednesday, September 9 — Trial & Welcome Day
All Ages: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM

We’ll have a small art project right before or after if you’d like to participate.

This will be our first day together! We’ll use the morning to meet one another, get comfortable with our space and routines, and give students a chance to experience Commons.

Wednesdays, September 16, 23 & 30 — Soccer/PE Soft Launch

September will be our soft-launch month, with Soccer/PE as our featured class.

Ages 5–9: 9:30–10:30 AM
Ages 10–16: 10:30–11:30 AM

Arrival begins at 9:15 AM. Depending on space and coach approval, students may have the opportunity to participate during both sessions.

Our regular Wednesday schedule begins in October with three enrichment classes each week.

We can’t wait to see everyone and get our Commons community started!

🎤 SPEAK UP!
Teen & Tween Public Speaking + Leadership Club

Thursdays | 1:15–2:15 PM
September 10–December 17, or Drop-In.
East Boca Raton

A weekly place for homeschool teens & tweens to connect, build confidence, and find their voice.

This isn't a stuffy public speaking class! Each week we'll mix speaking games, friendly challenges, group discussions, leadership activities, and opportunities to practice speaking in front of others.

Students will practice how to:

🎤 Speak confidently in front of a group
💬 Jump into conversations and express their ideas
⚡ Think on their feet
👀 Use eye contact, body language, and vocal expression
😂 Tell stories and entertain an audience
🧠 Organize their thoughts
📣 Persuade others and defend an idea
🤝 Lead, listen, and work with others

Some weeks we'll give prepared speeches. Other weeks might include impromptu speaking, funny debates, storytelling, team challenges, presentations, or persuasive pitches.

Quiet kids are welcome. Big personalities are welcome. No public speaking experience needed.

Come for the speaking. Stay for the people.

🔬 Hi Boca Buddies families!

Starting THIS Tuesday!
Boca Buddies Science Club is back! ❤️

We’ll be meeting at Hillsboro El Rio Park in Boca Raton (near SW 18th Street) 1–2 times a month throughout the school year for hands-on science, exploration, and time with homeschool friends.

We’re also bringing back our Elementary Science Olympiad Team, competing at FAU in April—just like we’ve done in years past! 🏆🔬

Love our homeschool moms & dads, and I’ve always loved this community. I’m excited to get Boca Buddies going again! 💛
