Friends, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers: I was fortunate to witness Baruch’s souls being recalled home this Saturday night during the Shabbat Purim portal. It was as glorious and resplendent as you would think. I wish I could share that vision with you. If I get more messages from Baruch (his eternal name) I will post them here.

I'm Rabbi Barry Silver, and I embrace Cosmic Judaism. This is the idea, posited by none other than Albert Einstein, that science and religion are compatible. Einstein viewed science as the basis for a "cosmic" religion, embraced by scientists, theologians, and all who share a sense of wonder in the rationality and beauty of the universe. Join us in our quest for beauty and truth through the lens of Cosmic Judaism. Services every Friday night at 7:30 Pm in person, zoom, youtube and facebook live.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO CORE JEWISH VALUES.

At L’Dor Va-Dor, we practice an all-inclusive, universal, and rational approach to Judaism where all are welcome through our doors, both literally and virtually, regardless of beliefs, backgrounds, or orientation! It is a Judaism that honors tradition, respects science, and celebrates spirituality. We like to call this InspiRational Judaism, and we invite you to help us in building the Judaism of Tomorrow! We offer dynamic and joyous celebrations of Shabbat and holidays and are socially-conscious about our world, environment, and current events, led by our amazing Rabbi Barry Silver. We welcome you to join us on this journey and to experience all we have to offer. We lovingly welcome those who seek to learn more about Judaism and perhaps even consider adopting Judaism as their faith!

As long as deep in the heart,
The soul of a Jew yearns,
And forward to the East
To Zion, an eye looks
Our hope will not be lost,
The hope of two thousand years,
To be a free nation in our land,
The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

Happy 75th Israel!

Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism, begins on Tuesday evening. On this day we pay tribute to and mourn all those killed while defending, or simply living in, the Jewish state. Though Christians and Muslims are among the casualties of the many wars that Israel has been forced to fight since well before its establishment—and ongoing assaults with which it continues to contend—Jews are both the main target and the majority of the dead. We stand with Israel, now and always.
