“Southern Promise” has dropped on all major music Streaming platforms under my artist name R Mack Harrell. The album can be generally classified in the Pop Country genre although the twelve songs range from traditional to contemporary to alt country. All were produced and sung by me, in my Boca Raton studio over the past year, so I have only myself to blame for the success or failure of this art. Since I retired from Endocrinology in December 2019, music has been my exclusive focus and “Southern Promise” is my first full length album offering. The sole intent of this release is to share musical post cards from the last 4 years of my life with the world. I do not have a music label or a publisher to promote me- I have you. Growing up in the Southern Baptist church, I got a lot of exposure to traditional Christian worship service music. But what I really loved was the addition of a little bit of swing to this sound as exemplified by music performed in the movement-rich Black Gospel Church. So here's a medley of a couple of very familiar 19th century Gospel songs that still make me wanna clap and move. Hope you enjoy, no matter what your religious or spiritual persuasion. The Possum
