Stronger Better Together
STRONGER & BETTER TOGETHER is a relief and rebuilding fund created to drive efforts that will enable long term success and sustained growth for Puerto Rico
Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico on September 20th. Maria is the strongest storm to make land on the island in over 85 years. The island is already in the throws of a humanitarian crisis. 3.5 million Americans are currently without power. Power lines on the island have been completely destroyed and will unlikely be an option to repair. The damage is so severe that repairing the electrical grid might not be an option.

Speaking of heroes let’s not forget Dr. Michelle Mendez, Dr. Michelle Carlo, Dr. Humberto Guzman, and Dr. Elly Benzaquen- Parkes, whom on October 20th along with Stronger and Better Together filled a plane with much needed medications and headed to Puerto Rico. The group with the help of Senator Henry Neumann established a makeshift clinic and offered free services to hundreds of patients in need of care. One a day at a time the help is getting delivered to the hands that need it most. We are indeed Stronger and Better Together!

Heroes come in all shape and sizes, as in the case of 3rd graders Arlo Schnee and Julian Zuzolo. At the very short age of 8 they understood the magnitude of the devastation in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, and they took matters into their own hands. They sold their toys and solicited donations in their home town and collected an amazing $400 which they donated to Stronger and Better Together so we can continue our mission of helping rebuilt Puerto Rico. Thank you Arlo and Julian! You are both already leading by example and are a bright star of hope in our future! You are our heroes!
