Dr. Berman graduated cm laude from Yale University. He attended the State University of New York-Downstate School of Medicine, where he also graduated with honors. Dr. Berman completed his General Surgery internship and Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. His Hand and Microsurgical training was completed at the Kleinert Institute in Louisville. Away from his practice, Dr. Berman is an avid cyclist and sports enthusiast and enjoys skiing, golf, baseball and hockey. He cycles regularly 120-150 miles per week. He participates in cycling Charity events like the Multiple Sclerosis 200 where he is a club 151 member (top 151 fund raisers for the past three years) and LIVESTRONG, Lance Armstrong's Cancer Charity. Dr. Berman also plays in many charity golf events to benefit such causes as the American Cancer Society, AIDS, and the IIeitis / Colitis Foundation. Dr. Berman is an active sponsor for the Delray Twilight Bicycle Festival. Knowing first hand that cycling can be a very dangerous sport, Dr. Berman advocates Bicycle Safety and the importance of riding with a helmet. 500 children's bicycle helmets were donated during the Bicycle festival. With others, these helmets were distributed at the YMCAs at Boynton Beach and Boca Raton. Dr. Berman taught school children the importance of riding with a helmet. For relaxation he loves to play the piano.
