JLBR's Community Garden committee has written a handbook for the establishment and maintenance of the garden. Mayor Susan Whelchel and the City of Boca Raton have assigned over an acre of land near downtown Boca Raton for the garden space. We opened for our first gardening season with 48 plots in October 2011, which have been leased to individuals and organizations. We expect that at least 10% of what is grown here will be donated to the local food pantry, Boca Helping Hands.
