Learn about the exciting hobby of bird watching. One of our naturalists will teach about different types of birds and identification skills. Afterwards, we will practice these new skills during a guided birding adventure.

Meet neighbors, fellow volunteers and connect with people who care about protecting the environment!

The International Coastal Cleanup is the world's largest single-day volunteer-based independent cleanup initiative to remove trash and debris from beaches, lakes, rivers, the ocean and natural areas. This is a global effort is sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy. It encourages volunteers to track trash and plastic debris.

Plastic pollution is a massive problem for our ocean, but even small actions can make a big difference. Since it originated, the International Coastal Cleanup encouraged more than 19 million volunteers to collect mover 400 million pounds of trash. Daggerwing Nature Center is participating in the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 by hosting a cleanup of the Daggerwing grounds on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. This is an excellent opportunity to help keep our park and community clean!

This week's talks and feedings:

Join us this Wednesday, September 16, for our Pollinator Month: Butterfly Gardening for Inner Peace program.

This program will teach you how to make a garden which is great for relaxation and stress relief, which in turn lowers stress hormones and encourages mindfulness. We will also go over the use of iNaturalist in the program to help track local species which is important for protecting critical habitats from human-induced threats.

General requirements for volunteering:
1. Be at least 15 years old.
2. Complete the application process.
3. Commit for a minimum of six months.

September is Pollinator Month!

The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of pollinator health and the impact they have on native habitats. Throughout September, PBC Parks is encouraging individuals to explore Palm Beach County and find as many species as possible to create a snapshot of the county’s biodiversity.

YOU can help! Be a citizen scientist and help document how many species you find in nature! To participate use the iNaturalist app or website and submit observations of various plant and animal pollinators found in parks, natural areas, backyards and other locations throughout the county. Download the iNaturalist app on your smartphone or visit their website at www.inaturalist.org.
