Was your ESA your valentine!?

New Year New Pet?

If you’ve seen the benefit of your current ESA you may start looking into getting another fur baby to add to the bunch. Remember when you renew you can put up to 2 ESAs on one letter. Everyone needs a friend and I’m sure your animal will agree. 2 is always better than 1.

When you give your dogs a treat for good behavior it reinforces positive behavior. You can do the same thing with yourself. Take pride in how far you have come and celebrate small wins! You’re worth it.

Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. Pets also provide valuable companionship for older adults.

Sometimes ESAs are not enough. At times it can still be difficult to stay motivated. While these furry family members can be a beacon of light we have to remember they are not the end all be all. Sometimes we need to take medication or start going to therapy to reap the best results.

I know reaching out and finding someone sometimes can be the most difficult part. DM us today if you’d like to set up a consultation to see if we can assist you in any way. We are always here for you

An ESA can drastically improve a person's quality of life, helping them through sometimes debilitating anxiety and depression symptoms.

These conditions are common reasons therapists suggest emotional support animals, but that list is non-exhaustive. One person's disability is nothing like another's, so a pet that provides emotional support may help with various conditions besides these.

Who can write an ESA letter?

Emotional support animals have a licensing process. To qualify, a licensed therapist needs to submit a letter that details your condition and need for an ESA. Many conditions qualify you for an emotional support animal. These include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and many others. In some cases, individuals who have these conditions do not have a formal diagnosis, but working with a licensed clinician can still move the process along and help patients get treatment with an ESA.

Happy Sunday humans and furry friends! I hope you all take this time to recharge and refocus for an amazing week ahead. With the holidays coming up it’s easy to get caught in the hustle of the season. Pause and take time for yourself. Make sure to go on extra walks and make time for cuddles.
