Sorry I was quiet yesterday. I ended up having a spontaneous gardening adventure yesterday after a spontaneous decision to buy 8 passion fruit plants. After seeing how expensive 8 appropriately sized pots were, the logical decision to make was purchase a shovel and get to work!

My daughter was a great helper before deciding she’d rather go look for “treasure in the piles of dirt I dug out. After digging it out I plotted where each plant would go and took them out of their pots to place them in the ground.

I bought a spool of metal fencing that we cut into sections to link together with zip ties to create round prisons for each plant to crawl up as they grew. My daughter was a great helper and even zip tied 3 together before declaring that “this gardening girl needs a gardening break!” She then went to look for more “treasure.”

After positioning our fence barriers partially underground we filled the tiny quarry in with some premo soil provided by a good friend who lived in a neighborhood across the street. Good thing he is getting rid of his raised bed and the copious amounts of soil in it. If anyone needs any amazingly rich soil. Let me know!

After breaking my back with the many trips it took to transfer and dump in the soil, I laid some organic mulch over the top of our garden to prevent unwanted weeds from sprouting.

Next week, I’ll be filling in more mulch behind it and adding a little barrier around it to prevent my dogs from using my new garden as their toilet. I hope you enjoyed my little gardening adventure! I am a big fan of CALI COFFEE and after playing with a few combinations I have finally found my drink of choice that I order every time I go. Nirvana with banana and a salted caramel cold foam. I have transferred this idea to our new cheesecake!
