One of North Georgia’s sweetest fall traditions is almost here! For two October weekends, Meeks Park in Blairsville will celebrate Appalachian heritage with old-fashioned sorghum making, mountain music, handmade crafts and plenty of small-town fall fun.

🌾 Watch sorghum cane being crushed and fresh cane juice slowly cooked into rich, old-fashioned syrup. It is a tradition that gives visitors a glimpse into how this mountain favorite has been made for generations.

🪵 Appalachian contests add to the fun with activities like log sawing, pole climbing and biscuit eating. You can also enjoy bluegrass and traditional mountain music, along with clogging performances.

🧵 Browse regional artisans offering pottery, crafts and mountain-made goods. And come hungry because a warm biscuit topped with butter and fresh sorghum syrup deserves a spot on your festival list.

Opening weekend brings even more excitement with the Sorghum in the Mountains Parade in Downtown Blairsville and additional festivities.
