This is exactly why we do what we do.

A four-year college degree is not the only path to a successful and rewarding career. For many students, the skilled trades offer an opportunity to build a future doing work they enjoy while entering industries that need their talent.

Through the Blue Ridge Mountains Parade of Homes and the Future of Our Trades Scholarship Foundation, we are proud to support local students who are choosing careers in construction and the skilled trades — helping them get the education and training they need to turn that choice into a career.

Building homes is what brought us together. Helping build the next generation of skilled tradespeople is our mission.

Construction Ready President & CEO Scott Shelar penned a guest op-ed that appears in today’s edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Scott makes the case that college isn’t a one-size-fits-all option for today’s youth, and that young men and women who pursue a career in the skilled trades can expect job security, competitive pay and no student debt.

It’s an important message—one that our team espouses every day as we seek to train and connect men and women for rewarding careers in the industry.
