🥵🐝 Bearding Bees 🐝 🥵
I find the bees so funny this time of year because they all beard out so different! It’s almost like they are all little artists 🎨

Bees “beard” on the outside of hives to help regulate and cool the temperature on the inside! So if you are hot, they are hot! 😜 Just make sure your water stations are filled for them, as they need water to cool the inside of the hive! Each hive can use a quart of water or more a day!!! 💙

❤️ Today I had the honor in joining Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center! Did we learn all about honey bees and pollinators, yup! Did we taste honey and spot the queen, sure did!

💙 But did I also make some new best friends, also YES!! Many past beekeepers, or families of beekeepers! I even was delighted to dance with a 102 year young veteran! 🤍

We thank you for your service and look forward to our next visit with you!!! 🩵

At peak summer, the Queen can lay up to 2000 eggs in 1 day!!! That makes my hives anywhere between 45,000-65,000 (or more) honey bees in one colony!

Heritage Apiary is NOW joining the Grandin Village Farmers Market!!!! I am absolutely over the moon to be joining the Local Environmental Agriculture Project!!!

🐝 I am planning on joining them at least once a month during their special events!!
🌼 My First day will be THIS SATURDAY, May 9th! To celebrate their Brunch & Bloom Market!
