Congratulations to the reelected council members! It's been an honor to serve the citizens of Blue Ridge with Jack, Christy, Bill over the past two years. Their goal along with Doc Whaley and myself, has been to work for what's important to the citizens. As a citizen myself, I am proud to have such a fine group of people leading the city. I look forward to continuing to work with the council as we try to make decisions that will have a positive impact on our citizens and preserve this quant small town we call home.

Thank you to all the Veterans here in Fannin County and across this nation. It takes a special and selfless person to serve their fellow citizens and our country. My thoughts and prayers are always with all the men and women that have made the sacrifice to leave their home and loved ones to serve and protect America.

God Bless our Veterans!

Congratulations to Jack Taylor for winning his city council seat again. Jack is a honest leader and I trust he will continue to serve this city with integrity and a heart for the citizens. Congratulations also to Bill Bivins and Christy Kay for winning their seat back for another four years too! Blue Ridge has a great city council and I’m proud to have the privilege to be part of it. Thank you to every citizen that voted today and to every citizen that supported a man that’s committed to protecting and preserving our small town.

As everyone knows, I campaigned in favor of implementing limited parking to help resolve the parking problem that the City has had for the last 10 years. Citizens and visitors alike cannot get parking spaces on East and West Main Street, because there is no parking management in place.

This video was taken by Mayor Rhonda Haight. I, as well as the Mayor, understand that there is a need to implement measures which will promote turn over and help allow citizens and visitors to get parking spaces close to the shops and restaurants.

The Mayor and Council will be conducting a workshop to discuss how we plan to move forward in resolving the parking issues downtown. I encourage everyone to attend the meeting. It will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at 5:00 PM at City Hall. If you cannot attend, please feel free to send an email to the Mayor or Council with your comments.
