why is painting fall leaves so soothing

My latest set of artwork is all about creating depictions of native hawk or sphinx moths and their host plants. This is a twin-spotted sphinx moth on a willow branch.

The Pandora Sphinx Moth is stunning and I had some ch a fun time painting it in watercolors. Here it is on one of its host plants the Virginia Creeper. This is available in my shop as both a high quality print or greeting card.

Another beautiful native a phone moth in my series, this is the Lesser Vine Moth on one of its host plants the Evening Primrose. They are known for their bright yellow flowers that bloom at dusk. This is available as a high quality print or greeting card in my shop

It’s a very winter my day outside and so I popped on some Bjork and painted my little heart out of this snowy lake scene. Shadow violet skies and sodalite treeline 💜

One of the things I love doing is repurposing artwork. These bookmarks are made from paintings where I was experimenting or playing with colour. Sometimes I add hand carved stamps or text but because I paint on both sides of the paper they are fun with no embellishments.
