Not only did my youngest help with inventory but my oldest rang up customers for the first time yesterday! Won't be long before he's ready for a shift by himself (no rush for that though 😆)

Saturday was the bTown Music Expo - -
slinging wax and catching the frequencies in real time
Big shout out and thanks to Jeremy o'er
Saw the Dagda of Rewind looking like a saint in a room full of sinners and was able to finally thank him
then I saw
The 'Abacab' collector
The magnetic beauty
the person who handed me the keys to the Cocteau Twins back in the fall--
It can be a heavy thing
realizing how much one persons recommendation
can change the way you hear the world
Caught a regular on a first date -two adorable and brave souls who discussed 'YMCA' for a full thirty mins
Took ten in the grass to ground and let a tote bag remind me how to live: Dilate Your Heart
Met the families, met the new collectors, and felt the quiet but very real magic of babies
Managed to hold it all together until
I was walking out the doors
and noticed this Depeche Mode poster still for sale
- because seeing it made me burst into tears
The vendor wrapped it up extra special
A good day for the records
A better day for the soul

*TL;DR: I expected one guy with a coffee. I got a line of strangers, 88 degree heat, and a two day crash. Record Store Day was a sweaty, beautiful riot.
Saturday was a 13hr blur, and I only managed to take this one photo -the single moment I was stopped in my tracks before the doors opened. I’d prepared for Steve and a quiet morning. Instead, I waded past a living cord of people.
Inside was a swamp where we talked about pressings, artist rights, and our favorite tunes. The floorboards vibrated along with my guts as both faces familiar and new continued to roll thru:
**I sincerely hope you all had even half as good a time as I did**
When I was finally about to lock the doors and stumble home, I found a small, folded piece of paper left behind that said:
"I ♥️ Rewind"
Well, bb - right back atcha
Thank you to everyone who made our first official RSD the most fun, the most memorable, the most endearing.
It was loud, it was hot, and it was perfect.
Saturday. 9 AM – 7 PM:
our first official Record Store Day 🫠
No free donuts, no special tshirts, no live music. Not even sure ill be spinning wax; the big shops have all that covered. Ill just have a single, tiny party light for the intermittent dance breaks required to keep the blood moving.
I ordered a handful of titles..maybe forty or so of those requested and my personal favs -in quantities so small they’re almost a secret.
One title of each per customer. It’s cleaner that way.

🤘🏻Extra Goods: A deepening well of OG 70s and 80s Classic Rock and new Bluegrass arrivals. The kind of records that don't need a holiday to matter.
🤣The Side Adventure: Be *professionally* roasted while you snag DEEP discounts on CDs and vintage threads over after you say hi to me!
🎭The Broadway Tickets: Drop your name for a chance to win 2 free tickets to "& Juliet" - - a reimagining where she doesn't end it all over some boy, set to Max Martin pop hits in the form of Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and more. I'll pull the winner at close!
