The Ranch Cat Rescue

What an amazing community! We're so grateful for the two people that donated window AC units to The Ranch yesterday! Gordon immediately claimed the 8000 BTU unit so we installed that for him on the main floor. A smaller unit was installed in our special needs room and the kitties in there really appreciate it!

We are still looking for an additional two window units. If anyone has one lying around, head over to theranchcatrescue.org/donate and fill out the local pick up form and our volunteer team will scoop them up.

I have an old freestanding unit that I'm going to try and rig up in our downstairs genpop room today. There's a slight logistical problem there as the basement windows only have a 12 inch opening and are mounted near the ceiling, making it so a window unit won't fit in those areas. It's gonna be a big strain on the compressor of a freestanding unit venting it up a 6' vertical run with two 90 degree bends, but I'm willing to risk it and see what happens!

It's never a dull moment over here, honestly, I pray for dull moments!! But I am forever thankful to our community for all y'alls support!! 🫶

Calling all units!! AC units, that is!

The Ranch has been without AC since our central air conditioning unit *lightly* caught on fire in the Fall of 2024. Last year we just dealt with it and honestly, it was miserable and it’s not safe (for the cats, our volunteers, or myself) to do that again this year.

Our amazing HVAC dude will be out in the next couple weeks to assess the damage and see if a repair is possible. More on how all that shakes out soon!

In the meantime, if you have a window AC unit that you’re not using and would like to donate it to help keep our kitties cool we would be forever grateful!

Head to theranchcatrescue.org/donate and fill out our Local Pickup Form and we’ll make arrangements to snag it ASAP. You can also make monetary donations that will go toward purchasing a couple of window units and to fund the assessment of the central unit.

Friends, we cannot thank you enough. Over the last few days you have sent 36 bags of cat food. THIRTY SIX!! That's enough to feed our 150+ residents for the next six(ish) weeks.
