New guidance about FBAs!
OSERS and OESE have jointly released guidance on functional behavior assessments (FBAs). The guidance provides educators and families with information, tools, and resources to support the broader use of FBAs and behavioral plans for all students. Recently traveled to Pittsburgh to attend the 2023 CASE Conference and colead two concurrent sessions. 1) How Identity can Lead to Identification: Proactively Combating Bias-Driven Disproportionality by Deepening Awareness of Self, Others and Systems 2) Applying Adaptive Leadership to Technical Systems: Using Lessons from Harvard's Doctor of Education Leadership Program to Rethink Approaches to Special Education
I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to present with my cohortmate Lisa Kingsley. We had really engaged audiences and received affirming feedback about our content and presentation.
