Usual wear and tear causes split ends.

Exposure to the elements, friction and daily life habits will cause split ends.

Typically every 5-6 weeks is recommended if you are a regular salon client.

A couple different ways to further enrich the life of your hair in between trimming is the wrap your hair, sleep on a satin pillow case, or wear a bonnet.

This will stop the friction and dryness that may occur at night with cotton sheets or pillow cases.

Textured hair has a tendency to get drier quicker. Especially now that season is changed and our hair skin is screaming for moisture.
Dry hair equals split ends. Even with regular salon visits the elements are not in our favor.

Trimming your hair seems counterintuitive but in reality you are getting rid of damaged hair and this will encourage growth.
