At 2 weeks post op, she has already come a long way from those first few days of recovery, but there is still plenty of healing happening beneath the surface.
We started sharing this patient's journey at just 72 hours post op, when swelling and bruising were much more evident. Since then, we've continued to follow her recovery through those early milestones, and now at two weeks, you can begin to appreciate just how much can change in a relatively short period of time.
Two weeks can feel like a major milestone, but facial rejuvenation continues to evolve for months. Swelling will continue to subside, the tissues will soften, and her facial contours will become increasingly refined with time.
Every patient heals differently, and there is no single timeline that applies to everyone.

7 Days Post Op: Facial Rejuvenation
One week after a Revision Deep Plane Facelift, Deep Plane Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Fat Grafting, and Full Face CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.
At 7 days post op, the signs of surgery are still very evident. Swelling and bruising are present, the tissues are still healing, and what we see today is nowhere near her final result.
But recovery isn't only about what you see in the mirror.
At this stage, this patient is beginning to ease back into parts of her normal routine. Driving, light errands and returning to desk work as she feels comfortable. While she may still look very early in the healing process, she is already beginning to feel more like herself.
This is an important distinction when we talk about facial rejuvenation recovery. Visible swelling and bruising can last longer than the period when a patient feels ready to resume certain everyday activities. Every patient's timeline is different, and returning to normal activities should always follow their individual postoperative guidance.
We are incredibly grateful to this patient for allowing us to share this stage of her journey. The polished before and after is only one part of the story. This is what one week can really look like.
72 Hours Post Op: Facial Rejuvenation
This is the part of facial rejuvenation recovery that can feel intimidating to see, but it is also one of the most important parts to understand.
At just 72 hours post op, swelling, bruising, tightness, and changes in facial appearance can be significant. This is not the result. This is healing.
It takes a great deal of vulnerability to share yourself at this stage, and we are incredibly grateful to this patient for allowing others to see the reality of early healing rather than only the polished result months later.
Her biggest piece of advice? Do your research and know what to expect.
Having the right mindset going into facial rejuvenation can make a meaningful difference in how you navigate recovery. Understanding that you will be swollen, that you may not look like yourself for a period of time, and that healing isn't linear can help you feel more prepared for those early days.
What you see at 72 hours is temporary. The swelling will change, the tissues will soften, and the result will gradually begin to reveal itself over the weeks and months ahead.
This is 72 hours. Not the final result. And we are thankful to have patients willing to show you the journey in between.

6 Months Post-Op Rhinoplasty
At six months post-op, this patient's rhinoplasty result is continuing to take shape.
Because she has thicker skin, her healing timeline can look a little different. Thicker skin tends to hold onto swelling longer, particularly around the tip and supratip, which means some of the definition created during surgery may take more time to fully reveal itself.
While six months feels like a significant milestone, it is important to remember that this is not necessarily the final result. Rhinoplasty can take a full year, and sometimes longer in thicker-skinned patients, to completely mature.
As the remaining swelling gradually resolves, we expect to see continued refinement and greater tip definition.
We deeply respect her privacy and are grateful for her willingness to share.

9 Months Post-Op Rhinoplasty
“Am I too old for a rhinoplasty?”
It’s a question we hear often, and this patient’s journey is a reminder that there isn’t one “right” age to make a change you’ve thought about for years. If you are healthy and an appropriate surgical candidate, it’s never too late to explore rhinoplasty.
At nine months post-op, we are getting much closer to seeing the final result of this patient’s rhinoplasty.
By this point, much of the swelling has resolved and the details created during surgery have become increasingly visible. The bridge continues to settle and the tip is becoming more defined.
Even at nine months, healing isn’t necessarily finished. Rhinoplasty is a process, and subtle refinement can continue through the one-year mark and beyond, particularly through the nasal tip.
Whether rhinoplasty is something you’ve considered for a few years or a few decades, the decision is personal, and age alone doesn’t define when the timing is right.

9 Months Post Op: Facial Rejuvenation
Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift & Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Upper Blepharoplasty, Lower Blepharoplasty, Fat Grafting, and CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.
This patient’s primary concerns were her eyes and neck. After a thoughtful discussion and evaluation, we ultimately decided that a comprehensive facial rejuvenation approach would best address her goals in a balanced, long-lasting way.
While the eyes and neck may have been what initially brought her in, facial aging rarely occurs in one area alone. Brow descent can contribute to heaviness around the eyes, volume changes can affect facial contours, laxity can develop throughout the lower face and neck, and changes in skin quality occur simultaneously.
Each part of her surgical plan was designed to address a different component of that aging process. The facelift and neck lift restored deeper structural support and definition, while the brow lift and upper and lower blepharoplasty addressed changes around the eyes. Fat grafting restored areas of volume loss, and CO₂ laser resurfacing was used to improve skin quality.
We first shared this wonderful patient at just 24 hours post op, when she was still very early in the healing process. Now, at 9 months, we can appreciate how much her result has continued to soften, settle, and refine with time.

48 Hours Post Op: Facial Rejuvenation
Just 48 hours after a Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift and Neck Lift, Surgical Lip Lift, Buccal Fat Removal, Full Face Fat Grafting, and Full Face CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.
At this stage, we aren't looking for a final result. We are looking at real recovery.
Swelling, bruising, tightness, unevenness, and changes in skin appearance are all expected this early in the healing process. In fact, swelling can continue to evolve throughout these first several days before gradually beginning to resolve.
We are incredibly grateful to this patient for allowing us to share her journey at just 48 hours post op. So often, patients only see the polished before and after photos months after surgery. Sharing these early stages is equally important because it provides a realistic look at what happens between the ""before"" and the final result.
Facial rejuvenation is a process. The first few days are about healing, not judging the outcome. Over the coming weeks and months, swelling will subside, tissues will soften, and her results will continue to reveal themselves.

4 Weeks Post Op: A Closer Look at Incision Healing

In this video, I’m taking you up close to this patient’s incisions just 4 weeks after facial rejuvenation and explaining why incision placement is such an important part of surgical planning.
With facial rejuvenation, the goal is to strategically place incisions within the natural contours around the ear and hairline so that, as they mature, they become increasingly difficult to detect.
At four weeks, however, these incisions are still very much in the healing phase. Some redness, firmness, swelling, or visibility of the scar can be expected. Scar maturation takes time, and what you see at one month can look very different several months later.
Thoughtful incision placement is only the beginning. Meticulous closure, postoperative care, and simply allowing the body time to heal all contribute to how these scars ultimately mature.
These close-up views through Meta glasses give you a perspective patients don’t often get to see, and a reminder that a natural facial rejuvenation result is about more than the lift itself. The details matter.
4 Weeks Post-Op Rhinoplasty
After thinking about rhinoplasty for nearly 10 years, this patient finally decided it was time.
Her primary concerns were the crooked appearance of her nose from the front and the way the tip would droop when she smiled. She also had functional concerns, and once she made the decision to address her breathing, she felt it was the right time to address the cosmetic details that had bothered her for years as well.
She shares an important perspective for anyone researching rhinoplasty: while social media can be a great source of information, you can't believe everything you see on TikTok. Going into surgery with realistic expectations and getting your information directly from your surgeon can make a big difference in how you approach the process and recovery.
At only four weeks post-op, she is healing beautifully, but this is still very early for a rhinoplasty result. Swelling will continue to resolve, definition will become more apparent, and her nose will continue to refine over the coming months.
After 10 years of considering surgery, we are grateful she trusted us with her journey.
