Beautiful views brought to you by God, Mother Nature and ranchers.

As many people know we border the High sierra subdivision in the heights. We try hard to be good neighbors, keep to our side of the fence and provide a peaceful view for all. So I’d like to ask all our neighbors to be a little neighborly as well. I know barbed-wire isnt as pretty as vinyl fencing, but it’s designed to keep our critters on our side of the fence, they would absolutely love to graze on your green grass and lounge in the shade from your trees, but they are not the guests you want, so please don’t take down, cut or remove our fences.
Secondly, please keep all your yard clippings, tree trimmings and dead plants on your side of the fence. I’m sure you are unaware that horses can’t digest lawn clippings, some landscaping plants could spread seeds and that out perform the native grasses. ( think Russian olive trees, they originally were used in yards, now a noxious w**d) also, your throw away materials just distract from the beauty of nature. Thanks for understanding.

When you have 26 calves in one day, you have to make room. Moving pairs to new pasture.

Ready, Set, Go!! Not the sight you want to see in a calving cow. This calf is coming backwards, hind legs-butt first. The important part is to get the calf out of momma quickly, once the butt comes through the birthing canal. At that point the umbilical cord is severed and if the calf spends to long in that position it can drown. Fortunately this was a well seasoned old cow and all things went smoothly. Momma and her little heifer are doing great.
