TRUCK TUESDAY: Beverly Emergency Management's Auxiliary Engine 23 in undated scanned slide from the collction of the late Mark Foster, longtime Emergency Manager fror Beverly, Massachusetts - City Government. Auxiliary Fire Service originated through Civil Defense planning for enemy attack to add volunteer capabliites to paid/professional departments. However, it became a capability utilized day-to-day, often for lighting or other tasks. The concept was common in Massachusetts and other northeastern states, but has waned in recent years.

Yesterday, on July 4th, BEMA had the pleasure of once again providing first aid and safety services for the ! We would also like to congratulate our member Alan for obtaining his Emergency Medical Responder certification!

It is with our deepest sympathy to the family and friends, on the loss of one of our dedicated and long time member’s from Civil Defense, CERT to Beverly Emergency Management Agency, Amanda Leck, proud EMT. You will be missed our friend.

We are saddened to report the passing of recently retired BEMA director, Mark Foster. Mark was an integral part of the emergency services field in New England for many years. We will miss you, Mark.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Foster. He literally built MA-TF1 from the ground up and we are forever grateful, this was his second home for 30 plus years before his retirement last year. He was truly a pioneer in the US&R system, He will be greatly missed. More info to follow.
