About Member Appreciation Month: https://hubs.la/Q04yDCvG0

UMLY had a fantastic time attending the inaugural Thrive Together event at Elmwood Park Zoo yesterday! An inspiring afternoon to see nearly 500 people come together to celebrate health, wellness, and community. Congratulations to the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce on a successful first-year event. We’re grateful to have been part of it!

Did someone say it’s time for a celebration?! 🎉🏆
Our UMLY Swim Team celebrated their National Championship today in Harrisburg at the State Capitol Building! What an incredible way to recognize the hard work, dedication, and amazing accomplishments of our champions. 💙💛

A huge thank you to Senator Carolyn Comitta and Rep. Melissa Shusterman for your warm hospitality and for honoring our National Champions. We are so proud of this incredible team! 🏆👏

🏛️ WHAT IF YOUR TEEN COULD HELP RUN A STATE GOVERNMENT?
That’s exactly what happens in Pennsylvania Youth and Government!
Youth and Government is a student-led, hands-on program for teens in grades 7–12 where participants don’t just learn about government—they step into the roles themselves.
Teens can become:
⚖️ Attorneys arguing cases before a Youth Supreme Court
📜 Legislators writing, debating, and passing bills
📣 Lobbyists advocating for ideas and causes
📸 Reporters, photographers & creators covering the action
🏛️ Executive leaders dealing with legislation and even a simulated crisis
Throughout the year, students build skills in public speaking, leadership, debate, writing, communication, advocacy, journalism, and teamwork while preparing for the highlight of the program: the Model Convention at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.
And the best part? The students lead the experience.
📅 Tuesdays beginning September 22
⏰ 6:00–7:00 PM
📍 Upper Main Line YMCA
🎓 Grades 7–12
You don't have to already know a lot about government to join. Whether your teen is interested in law, leadership, public speaking, journalism, photography, current issues—or simply trying something new, there is a place for them in Youth and Government.
