Email Slingshot if you want to help make the 2027 Organizer: "slingshotcollective at protonmail dot com". You don't have to be in the SF Bay Area to participate. Please don't respond on IG - it is not secure and we don't keep track of stuff on IG.
-- if you want to draw a 4-week section or a month-at-a glance calendar, let us know whether you prefer pocket or spiral and which month if you care. Templates will go out via snail mail April 20 and are due back via snail mail Friday, May 22. All art must be hand-drawn and original.
-- from now until April 15 you can suggest new historical dates and help edit/revise the old ones.
-- If you have changes or additions for the radical contact list, please send them anytime before May 22. Slingshot is looking for help contacting all the existing contacts between April 21 - May 22 and especially international contacts if you speak other languages.
-- If you have ideas for features for the back of the organizer, please email or just go ahead and write the feature - due May 22.

Help mail the new Slingshot Issue #144 Sunday March 1 - 1:30 pm – 9 pm, Sat. Feb. 28 10:30-1:30, plus other times.

Slingshot printed an absurd 48,000 copies of issue #144, which is the most we've ever printed -- mailing out that many copies is a ridiculously large amount of grunt work, so Slingshot is counting on an unruly MOB of people pitching in a few hours over the next few weeks to get it all done -- tell your friends ---> "It's more fun than it sounds"

Slingshot is looking for just a few volunteers to pack hundreds of boxes of papers the afternoon of Friday February 27 anytime noon - 5. Please RSVP

BONUS materials

1. Slingshot is seeking volunteers to type prisoner addresses into the mailing list by March 7 - due to tech issues, this has to happen at the long haul - hours are flexible.

2. If you know of people who want to be volunteer distributors and get papers mailed to them, have them send an email by 7 pm Feb. 28 to "slingshotcollective at protonmail dot com" with their
- snail mail address
- how many copies they want (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 55, 100 or 175 copies)
- if they want to get future issues, how long they will be at that address

3. if you know of people who want just 1 copy sent to them, have them send us the full snail mail address before March 7 at 5 pm and how long they will be at the address.

4. if you want to distribute copies on a road trip or around town, there's will be copies at the long haul by Friday afternoon.

5. Slingshot is seeking 1-2 volunteers to help unload the truck (48,000 copies!) Friday February 27 - time unknown - we'll text you 15 minutes before the truck arrives.

6. Slingshot is looking for a person with a car to get mailing supplies from the bulk mailing center in West Oakland between the hours of 11 - 7 pm before Friday Feb. 27 --

7. Slingshot is looking for a person to deliver bundles of papers in San Francisco to Bound Together, Adobe, Medicine for nightmares, Rainbow Grocery and a few other spots anytime on or after February 27

8. Slingshot is looking for drivers to take the bulk mailing to the West Oakland bulk mailing facility next week between the hours of 11 - 7 pm

9. Slingshot's 38th birthday (!) is March 9 - there will be some kind of a lower-key party at Long Haul March 8 in conjunction with the mailing -- there's 3 bands playing that night already plus a poetry reading so even if you hate Slingshot, drop by it will be a fun evening.

Join the art party to make Slingshot #144 this weekend Feb. 21/22 / Sat.Sun. noon - late Saturday -- 10 am - 8 pm Sunday (meeting to look over pages and pick cover Sunday around 8 pm )- Tell a friend.

You don't have to be an artist -- there's editing, proofreading, headline writing, being DJ...

The articles are good -- if you've been missing the Long Haul and want to meet some new folks and spend time doing something nourishing, creative, fun and exciting, drop by.

p.s. it's especially helpful for folks to come during the daytime hours when there's less people and more space vs. everyone showing up at 8 pm
