We’re excited to host an art opening at Koraa during the Piedmont Ave Night Market featuring Oakland artist Jen Peterson of 🌞

Jen’s work is colorful, layered, nature-inspired, and full of softness and texture — and we especially love that the collection makes original art feel approachable and collectible, with most pieces priced between $50–$150 and smaller originals fom $15-40.

We’ll have refreshments, snacks, and a cozy space to hang while browsing the collection.

The Night Market is one of our favorite evenings on Piedmont Ave — dozens of small businesses stay open late with special promos, pop-ups, music, and events happening throughout the street.

For years, we’ve been quietly dropping off socks, diapers and supplies at the — a small thing that always felt like the least we could do. This year, we wanted to do something more.

The WDDC has been part of our community for over 37 years. Three days a week, they open their doors to unhoused women and their children — hot meals, groceries, hygiene items, housing support, and a safe place to land. They serve more than 500 women and children every single month.

So this Mother’s Day, Koraa is donating 15% of sales to them. Here’s how:

We are stocked for your self care needs, everything you need for some much needed rest and relaxation for you or a loved one. Remember, self care is foundation for everything else to grow and flourish 🌱❤️😌

This is what community looks like!!! So proud of the Elmwood and for our neighbors, employees and friends who showed up. We organized this just a few days ago as most businesses had not heard about the general strike. And look any how many people showed up! So many our our neighbors welled up as we protested together ❤️❤️❤️

Remember, resistance can take many forms. Some businesses closed while others can’t afford to. Some are donating a percentage to support the cause but we all show up for the same reason. We chose to do both. We are donating 20% of sales today to mutual aid funds listed in and our staff chose to close at 3pm to join the protest and we couldn’t be more moved by the power of community!

A giant thanks to Claudia , the champion of who organized this, including making the signs and did the heavy lifting to make events like this possible!
