First Pres Berkeley Community Groups

As our time together this fall comes to a close, we hope you have learned more about what God intends for our Christian communities. We have had such precious time sharing life together and hope that you will continue to seek out community! (Speaking of.... we have another opportunity to seek out this community together next spring when we start community groups once again!! Yay!!)

We hope you have a wonderful time in your Community Groups this week! As a part of our "Life Together" this fall, we have an opportunity to connect, grow, and serve with our Community Groups. In a few weeks, we have a wonderful invitation to serve together with First Pres’ mission partner, Project Peace East Bay’s “Day of Service” on Saturday, November 4th, 9am to 12pm. We hope you sign up with your Community Groups and take this unique opportunity for fellowship and service together!

Happy Monday, Community Group members! As we enter into a new week, let's reflect on the passage God has prepared for us this week in Acts 6:1-7.

We hope you have had restful time this week to reflect on "Life Together." How have you leaned into your Christian community?

What do we love the most about the onset of fall? The return of Community Groups of course! If you are not already in a Community Group, visit the Directory (link below) to find and join an open group. This season we will be exploring the idea of "Christian community" while reading through the book of Acts and Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Life Together." Copies of "Life Together" and the study guide are available Sunday and throughout the week at the Reception. We are so excited to see you there!

Pick up a copy of our ACC speaker, Soong-Chan Rah's book, "Prophetic Lament: A Call for Justice in Troubled Times." This powerful, timely exposition of the book of Lamentations, read alongside Lamentations, could make for a rich study leading up to or following ACC.

Copies of "Prophetic Lament" are available for $10 Sundays through May 14 on the Pathway; weekdays and Sundays following May 14 at Reception.
