Bears Beyond Bars
Bears Beyond Bars is a student organization at U.C.
Berkeley that tutors inmates in local jails and reads and distributes books to children waiting to visit their relatives in jail. Berkeley that is run through the Alameda County Library with the support of the Cal Corps Public Service Center. Members who are 20 years of age or older and pass a security clearance are offered the opportunity to tutor inmates at Glenn Dyer and Santa Rita Jails in Oak

Pot Dealer in UK Gets Sentenced to Write 10-Page Essay Convicted UK pot dealer Terry Bennett, 32, was just sentenced to the grown-up version of writing “I will not chew gum in class” on the chalkboard 100 times: He must write a 5,000-word essay about the dangers of cannabis by April 4—or spend a year in jail.
