Over the past few years, a range of research have demonstrated that resilience (in addition to motivation and self-control) is as important to our ability to learn and be successful as raw I.Q., and it is probably more malleable. It’s time we take this seriously and commit to building resilience not only within ourselves, but also within our families and communities.

The Psych Approach There are strong links between our childhood experiences and adult lives. The emotional basis of success should have a bigger role in education.

Can we please, please stop using the word “myth” to denote a falsity? A myth is neither a lie, a bogus statement, or a fantasy; nor is it an abuse of scientific method, physical evidence, or verifiable truth. A myth is simply and profoundly a sacred narrative, one which points us toward some fundamental meaning or essential truth which inspires us to have courage, think bigger, bond better, and live well. There are many types of truth. It’s time to open our mind, and learn how to hold all of them in dynamic balance.
