CalChat is a web app that hosts chatrooms for every class and building on campus with the goal of connecting the cal campus community.
CalChat started when Jesse, Nelson, and Jon signed up for the Code4Cal Hackathon back in early 2012. The idea for CalChat itself stemmed from a desire to help students in the same classes and departments connect better, and to foster a real campus community online by building a product that was tailored to Cal. We've been selected as finalists in the STC Web App Competition!

Winners of the Student Technology Council's Second Annual Web App Competition announced | UC Berkele CalChat was the $3,000 Grand Prize winner and was also the $1,000 People's Choice Award winner.
